In regards to Anno and NGE, I can understand feeling protective of your younger characters, but just because an adult fan feels attracted to a young character doesn’t mean they actually want to have sex with children (most people can separate fantasies from reality). Keep in mind that the rates of sexual assault and pedophilia in Japan are much lower than many Western countries. That said, if the fanservice in question makes you personally feel uncomfortable, I can understand.
