Bits And Pieces 3 | More Of My Disconnected Thoughts
Hi! Thanks again for reading all my articles. It means so much for people to be reading the things I write. It’s been very self-fulfilling. It’s also been pretty exhausting. So today, I just wanted to unwind with some stuff that’s been on my mind recently. Thank you again for your time.
I’ve been vaccinated for a few months now, but I still feel strange walking around public spaces without masks. After a long time of doing so, it now feels like something’s missing. “The New Normal” is a lie.
I’m not the kind of person who’s into most “holiday foods”. I get dismissed as a “picky eater”, but it’s just not something I can get over just because you look at me disapprovingly, shove a spoonful of mashed potatoes in my face, and say, “Try it- you’ll like it!”. Like, just leave me and my bread rolls alone.
It’s not something I consciously started doing, but nowadays I refer to myself in passing as a “journalist”, even though I’m not sure most people would use that word to describe what I do here on Medium. It just makes me feel professional, and helps me take this seriously. I’ll be turning it into a profession someday, though.
Growing up with my dad has had its ups and downs, but one thing he taught me is how to travel light and travel smart. He has a duffel bag he keeps in his car filled with everything he needs- spare clothes, portable chargers, you name it. And yet it’s unexpectedly compact. I’ve taken a few tricks from his book, and the pockets of my backpacks are all filled with small emergency supplies like portable chargers, nail clippers, and safety pins.
I’m so glad that Mario Party Superstars looks good, I can’t wait to play it. I’m still baffled at Nintendo making the conscious decision to include the stick-rotation minigames with unchanged controls. Not mad, just baffled and… kind of amused, honestly. It’s like they understand that the notoriety of those minigames must be preserved.
That’s all I got for today, next time will be a good one.
Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay on the hook!
